Başını bizim yazdığımız, sonunu da birlikte yazmayı düşlediğimiz bir hikaye — A story that we have started and yet dream to move ıt forward all together

Mardin’de güneş her sabah gözünüzü, gönlünüzü bereketle doldurur. Huzurla uyanıp, mücadele içerisinde bir kargaşaya karışan hayat; her gün başka bir hikayenin peşinden sürükler sizi…
Tıpkı dün ve bugün olduğu gibi… Mezopotamya’nın göğünde yükselen güneşin aydınlığı; başını bizim yazdığımız, sonunu da birlikte yazmayı düşlediğimiz bir hikaye müjdeledi hepimize… 

Dünyanın önde gelen mutfak enstitüsü Basque Culinary Center’ın her sene mutfaktaki yeteneğini ve yaratıcılığını, toplum yararına sosyal sorumluluk projeleriyle birleştiren şefleri taçlandırdığı, dünyanın en prestijli şef yarışmalarından biri olan Basque Culinary Center Awards’ta 110 aday arasından ilk 10'a girerek finale kalan ilk Türk şef olmanın gururunu yaşıyorum. (Üstelik kadın bir şef)

Beni en çok mutlu eden ödülün kendisinden çok, elimi uzatıp hayatlarına dokunmak ve değiştirmek için çabaladığım; Mardinli, Urfalı ve Suriyeli Mülteci kadınların dünya çapında tanınma ve daha nicelerinin kendi yetenek ve çabaları ile aşçılığı meslek edinebilmesi için destek alma şansına sahip olmaları.

Bu vesile ile ;Türk Mutfağı ve Türk Gastronomisinin uluslararası arenada adından bahsedilmesene vesile olmak ayrıca gurur veriyor.
Yarışmayı kazanan şef , 18 Temmuz’da Meksika’da açıklanacak. Heyecanımı anlatmaya kelimelerim yetmiyor. Ben, aşkla yaptığım işime, şehrim Mardin’e ve başlattığımız değişimle önceleri sayılıları bir kaç olan ama şimdi arkamda kale gibi duran, elindeki hiçbir şeyi, herşey yapan kadınların gücüne inandım.

Onlarla ülkem adına inanılmaz bir başarıya imza atıyoruz şimdi.

In Mardin, the sun fills your eyes every morning and your heart with abundance. Life that wakes up peacefully and becomes involved in a struggle in the struggle; every day it will drag you to another story.

Just as it was yesterday and today. In the light of sun rise on the chest of Mesopotamia; good news appeared on a story that we wrote the beginning together and hopefully continue together.

One of the world’s most prestigious kitchen institution the Basque Culinary Center, is rewarding chefs every year, who are using their talent and creativity for social responsibility projects. I am proud of being the first Turkish chef (moreover, a female chef) to enter the top 10 among 110 candidates around the world for Basque Culinary Center Awards.

The issue which made me most happy about this award is that I am tried to help and change the life of women, who are from Mardin, Urfa and Syrian refugees. Moreover, they got a chance to recognized world-wide and become professional on cooking with their own talents and efforts.

It is also a proud to knowing Turkish Cuisine and Turkish Gastronomy will be mentioned in the international arena as well. The winner of the contest will be announced in Mexico on July 18th. I do not have enough words to express my excitement.

I believe in the power of the job I made with love, my town Mardin, and few women at the beginning, who are made everything with nothing, and women who are more in numbers and by my side like a castle. Now we are building an incredible success on behalf of my country. All of you never stopped believing and supporting me with your messages. We are sure that, we will accomplish more with the strength that we received from you.

This is the success of all of us.
