Yaşayan Toprak, Yerel Tohum Projesi’nin ilk tohumu ekiliyor!
Mezopotamya’nın en eski durum buğday tohumu Sorgül, Mardin Ovası’nda yerel ve mülteci kadın çiftçiler ile tekrar hayat buluyor!
AK Parti Mardin Milletvekilimiz, Meclis İdare Amiri Sayın Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı himayelerinde, Gıda, Tarım ve Hayvancılık Bakanlığı’na, Mardin Artuklu Belediyesi, Birleşmiş Milletler Gıda ve Tarım Örgütü (FAO), Hayatım Yenibahar Ekonomik Kalkınmayı ve Sosyal Gelişimi Destekleme Derneği, Mardin Artuklu ve Savur ilçeleri ‘Topraktan Tabağa’ Tarımsal Kalkınma Kooperatifleri işbirliği ile ortaklaşa yürütülen Topraktan Tabağa; Yaşayan Toprak, Yerel Tohum Projesi hayata geçiyor.
Proje kapsamında; toprağın korunması, iyi tarım uygulamaları, yerel tohumların bulunması, çoğaltılması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılması, yerel ürünlerle geleneksel gıda üretimi, yerel ve Suriyeli mülteci kadın çiftçilerin toplumsal entegrasyonu ve istihdamı için mesleki ve iş başı eğitim faaliyetlerinin “Topraktan Tabağa Tarımsal Kalkınma Kooperatifleri’’ ile birlikte yürütülmesi hedefleniyor.
Bu proje ile Mezopotamya’nın bilinen en eski atalık durum buğday tohumu ‘Sorgül’ tohumluk olarak, Mardin Ovası'nda ekilerek iyi tarım uygulamaları ve geleneksel üretim teknikleri ile üretilecek. İlk yıl tohumların çoğaltılması ve iyi tarım uygulamaları eğitimleri verilecek projede ilk hasat Haziran 2018'de yapılacak.

Living Soil, Local Seed Project’s first seed is being planted!
Sorgül, the oldest durum wheat of Mesopotamia, is coming to life again at the hands of local and refugee woman farmers on the plains of Mardin!
The project “From Soil to Plate; Living Soil, Local Seed”, which is being executed in the charge of Justice and Development Party (Ak Parti) Congresswoman, Parliament Chief Executive Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı; with the cooperation of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Mardin Artuklu Municipality, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Hayatım Yenibahar Supporting Economic Development and Social Progress Association, Artuklu and Savur Districts of Mardin ‘From Soil to Plate’ Agricultural Development Cooperatives; is coming to life.
Within the scope of this project; protecting the soil, good farming practices, finding the local seeds and multiplying them and transferring them to the next generations, traditional food production with local products, operations of vocational and on-the-job trainings of the local and Syrian refugee woman farmers for the social integration and employment of women in agriculture along with the operations of the “From Soil to Plate Agricultural Development Cooperatives” are being aimed.
With this project, the oldest known ancestry wheat seed of Mesopotamia, “Sorgül” wheat, is going to be planted on the plains of Mardin and it is going to be produced with good farming practices and traditional production techniques. During the first year of the project, the seeds are going to be multiplied and the good farming practices trainings are going to be given to the participants. The first harvest of the project is going to be done on June, 2018.
